Climate Adaptation Plan Template for Tribes in Southeast Alaska

The Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes has produced a climate adaptation plan (CAP) template for Tribes in Southeast Alaska.  The CAP template provides a format for detailing the Tribe’s history of adaptability and resilience. It includes a detailed section on changing conditions with relevant tables and figures and the disproportionate impact these changing conditions are having on Indigenous people. The template is designed to identify key areas of concern for the Tribe in order of priority. Finally, the template provides a space for outlining next steps.

This CAP template provides an excellent, user friendly resource for Tribes in Southeast Alaska to compose climate adaptation plans that take into account localized history, concerns and needs while alleviating some of the time and resource challenges of drafting such a plan from scratch.
