National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS) provides weather forecasts, marine forecasts, flooding forecasts, aviation, fire, high surf advisories, sea ice forecasts and warnings. The NWS operates 24 hours a day, seven days per week; forecasters can be reached anytime. Because the NWS lacks tidal/buoy data, community-based observations are needed to help improve NWS flood forecasts. The Weather Ready Nation Ambassador Program allows individuals to connect with people who use NWS weather information, tools and data to find out more about what is needed and how we can collaborate to fill gaps.
